About Team: The AI Platform team is responsible for the features that power the AI capabilities of one of LexisNexis IP's flagship products, PatentSight+. We research new AI technology and apply it in our products, resulting in intelligent features that benefit our users, as well as reusable tools for our internal platform. This is an opportunity to join a team that works on a modern, cloud native infrastructure and become an essential part of building LexisNexis IP's AI future. We expect this team to work across multiple technologies around a core, including Python, AWS (EKS, S3, Lambda, CDK, etc.), AI/ML/Data Science libraries (LLM tooling, pandas, etc.) About Role: We are hiring several Software Engineers of differing levels to build AI capabilities through the delivery of AI-powered features within PatentSight+ and internal AI tools. PatentSight+ enables core IP activities such as competitive intelligence, benchmarking, portfolio optimisation and more, by bringing together highly curated and enriched datasets, cutting-edge analysis tools with streamlined workflows and powerful visualisation capabilities, all within a single platform. You'll be working in a small, highly skilled agile team, with ownership over the mission and your development practices and processes. Your engineering team will be mainly based in the UK and Germany. You will also work closely with an existing application team, data scientists, as well as with a broader range of stakeholders distributed across the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and the USA. Key Responsibilities:
- Researching the applicability of cutting-edge AI technology in our features.
- Developing reusable AI evaluation frameworks.
- Delivering AI-powered features.
- Helping to build AWS platform infrastructure with CDK, such as Kubernetes services and vector databases.
- Participating in development processes and code reviews.
- Operating in a Scrum-based development environment while collaborating with stakeholders.
- Proactively seeking to learn about best coding practices in Python.
- Ability to write code and tests in Python.
- Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud providers.
- Understanding Software Engineering techniques and processes.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience.
- Experience with Azure Pipelines, AWS CDK is desirable, but not essential
