1st Line IT Technician
We are looking for a motivated and technically minded IT Service Technician to join a small and friendly team in Derby. This role focuses primarily on Helpdesk support, providing high-quality technical assistance to customers using our EPOS and retail technology solutions. You will play an important role in ensuring customers receive efficient, professional support while also assisting with hardware preparation, diagnostics and workshop tasks.

Salary: £27,000 per annum Hours of work: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday between 8am - 6pm, one hour lunch Location: Derby - Pride Park (Fully Office Based)

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
As a Service Technician, you will provide first-line technical support to customers via phone, email and chat, helping to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues. Alongside Helpdesk duties, you will assist with preparing EPOS systems and related hardware, carrying out diagnostics and repairs, and configuring systems before deployment.
You will also support stock control, logistics and equipment management within the workshop. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams to ensure customers receive a reliable and efficient service. Occasional out-of-hours support will be required on a rotational basis, which is supported by an additional bonus scheme.
ABOUT YOU
Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be supporting a wide range of customers, including non-technical users. You should be organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work collaboratively within a team are key to success in this role.
The ideal candidate will have experience in an IT support or technical repair environment, or strong practical experience working with IT equipment. You should be confident troubleshooting technical issues, both remotely and hands-on, and comfortable working with Windows and Android systems.
