Role: Junior Data Analyst Location: LE12, Mountsorrel, Leicester Salary: Up to £30,000 (dependent on experience)Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm Working Pattern: Office-based initially, moving to hybrid (3 days working from home) following successful completion of probation

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Analyst to join a close-knit team of three. In this role, you will support the extraction, processing, analysis, and interpretation of data to generate insights and support data-driven decision-making across the business.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in data manipulation tools such as Excel and Power Query, and the ability to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Acquisition
- Collect and compile data from multiple sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and external data providers
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through data cleansing and validation processes
Data Processing & Transformation
- Assist in developing and maintaining data preprocessing pipelines
- Use Excel, Power Query, and other tools for data integration and data wrangling
Data Analysis
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
- Support the development of statistical models to extract insights
- Respond to programme-related data queries and integrate findings into wider analysis
Data Interpretation
- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support their data requirements
Reporting & Presentation
- Prepare and present reports and insights for stakeholders
- Assist in developing automated reporting solutions using Excel and other tools
Data Management
- Maintain and update databases, ensuring accuracy and data security
- Support the implementation of data governance best practices
Continuous Improvement
- Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and best practices
- Recommend and implement improvements to data processing and analysis efficiency
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work with large datasets
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and data entry systems
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree / Higher education in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Previous experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role (preferred)
- Knowledge of data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI – preferred)
- Proficient in Excel and Power Query; knowledge of macros/VBA is advantageous
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data processing frameworks
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
