Salary: £60,000 per annum

Overview

Our client, a leading digital consultancy, is seeking a Senior Account Manager – Education to support and grow strategic client partnerships within the education sector. This role plays a key part in managing high-value, long-term public sector accounts and delivering the commercial strategy for the sector.

The position combines account ownership, commercial delivery, and sales growth, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement, contract governance, and social value delivery. It is well suited to a commercially minded account manager who enjoys working at pace, bringing teams together, and shaping future opportunities while maintaining excellence across live work.

Responsibilities

Commercial Delivery & Account Management

  • Own day-to-day commercial performance across assigned accounts, including forecasting, margin management, renewals, extensions, and issue resolution.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Lead the coordination, completion, and return of Statements of Work (including delivery against a defined service-level turnaround).
  • Consolidate inputs from delivery, technical, legal, and resourcing teams into clear, accurate, and commercially robust documentation.
  • Maintain accurate account, pipeline, and CRM records, ensuring reporting remains current and reliable.

Sales & Growth Ownership

  • Own and deliver a defined portion of the education sector sales target.
  • Identify and progress expansion opportunities within existing client accounts.
  • Lead smaller bids and commercial extensions, while supporting larger strategic pursuits.
  • Develop a strong understanding of education sector priorities, policy context, and client needs to support effective account planning.
  • Contribute to bid responses and commercial shaping activities within an agreed value range.

Resourcing & Onboarding

  • Forecast demand across live and pipeline work, ensuring resourcing aligns with delivery timelines.
  • Work closely with delivery and resourcing teams to confirm requirements and readiness.
  • Coordinate onboarding activity to ensure teams can mobilise on time and as planned.

Social Value & Value-Add Delivery

  • Ensure all social value commitments made at bid stage are delivered, tracked, and evidenced.
  • Coordinate value-add initiatives, events, and activities that strengthen client relationships and engagement.
  • Produce accurate monthly client reports covering KPIs, social value delivery, value-add activity, and overall account performance.

Requirements

Essential

  • Commercial or client-facing experience within a professional services or public sector environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing Statements of Work, contracts, renewals, or similar commercial processes.
  • Strong financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting capability.
  • High attention to detail across commercial documentation and reporting.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within public sector digital transformation environments.
  • Knowledge of the education sector or related policy landscape.
  • Willingness to develop deeper understanding of digital delivery disciplines over time.
