Senior Data Analyst – Digital Consultancy
Location: Leeds (Hybrid / UK-wide with travel)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £57,000 – £64,000 per annum
Overview
Our client, a leading digital consultancy, is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join multidisciplinary teams delivering user-centred digital solutions that create meaningful impact. This role is ideal for an experienced data analyst operating at senior level who is motivated by insight-driven decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring others, while continuing to develop their own technical capability.
The position offers strong progression opportunities, with the advertised salary sitting at the lower end of the senior band to support growth within the role.
Responsibilities
- Generate actionable insights from large and complex datasets, communicating findings clearly through dashboards, reports, and presentations.
- Engage with client stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate these into clear analytical requirements.
- Identify opportunities to apply advanced analytics techniques, including predictive modelling and machine learning, to deliver additional value.
- Apply appropriate statistical methods and clearly explain methodologies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Explore and analyse structured and unstructured datasets from a wide range of sources.
- Use data analysis and visualisation tools, including business intelligence platforms, to support insight delivery.
- Identify, collect, and integrate data from multiple systems, including open-source datasets, to provide contextual insight.
- Understand data platforms and pipelines at a conceptual level, identifying data quality issues and their potential impact.
- Apply effective data cleansing and management techniques and advise on future data improvements.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and development of junior analysts.
- Promote best practice in data analytics internally and externally through knowledge sharing, blogs, case studies, workshops, and speaking opportunities.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in a senior data analyst role, with a strong track record of analysing and presenting data effectively for varied audiences.
- Strong skills in data cleansing, analysis, modelling, and visualisation.
- Experience using BI and visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker Studio.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one programming language such as Python or R.
- Experience working with large-scale data warehouses or data lakes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interpret and advise on client requirements.
- Excellent collaboration skills and a proactive approach to working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior analysts, with a passion for skills development.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable
- Experience with web analytics platforms such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
- Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, Spark, or Splunk).
- Experience within a consultancy or public sector environment.
- Exposure to advanced analytics, predictive modelling, or machine learning techniques.
