Cancer Clinical Data Capture Manager
Job summary
We're looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Cancer Clinical Data Capture Manager to support and develop clinical systems within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
You'll manage system updates, support cancer reporting requirements, and act as a key link between users and technical teams.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, improving data quality, delivering training, and helping shape future system developments while making a real impact on patient services.
Main duties of the job
Test and verify Cancer Clinical Data system software provided in periodic software releases.
To provide training, support and advice to users in the aspect of the system relevant to them.
Support and work with teams to find ways they can improve and develop data capture which will provide detailed analysis through involvement in projects. This links into the wider Trust IT System.
To facilitate and maintain User/How to guides for training and reference guides.
Support the monthly data submissions are validated and uploaded meeting upload deadline dates.
Resolve user queries, liaising with the supplier where necessary and reporting any system issues that arise.
Provide regular data validation reports to the Cancer Services team in preparation for the monthly data upload.
To liaise with the IT Information Department providing information regarding any request for change from the system supplier.
To be able to create dataviews, panels and reports to support new projects.

Person Specification
Personal Attributes & Skills
- Ability to communicate technical information to all levels of staff and management in terms easily understood to ensure systems are used correctly.
- Ability to lead user groups and communicate with wide groups in meetings or training sessions.
- Ability to record and analyse information from disparate sources to enable diagnosis of problems within information systems.
- Ability to identify improvements to system or working practice and identify training needs.
- Advanced Keyboard Skills; including Microsoft
Qualifications & Training
- Post graduate level education or equivalent experience in management of complex IT clinical systems.
- Experience of information asset administration
- ITIL Qualification
- PRINCE 2 Foundation
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in a systems management role for a large system, in an end-user environment
- Experience of supporting complex clinical systems
- Experience of organising and chairing meetings
- Experience of working within the NHS acute hospital environment.
- Understanding of relevant IT management issues and techniques e.g. system change control, user acceptance, helpdesk provision, service level agreements, security standards & data protection.
