Digital Contracts Officer
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Digital Buyer to progress to a Digital Contract Officer to join the Digital Business Management team within the Digital Transformation department.
The team are responsible for the management of around 150 individual contracts and will be working on consolidating contracts over the next year to obtain best value for the services provided.
This is a training role, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to refine their contract management and procurement skills while completing their CIPS Level 4 and acting as the main Trust contact for suppliers of small to medium value contracts. The role will involve contract management which includes hosting regular contract review meetings with suppliers, engaging with Trust key stakeholders such as the Information Asset Owner (IAO), system manager, technical team lead, clinical and administration leads to ensure the contract is delivering against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
There will be a range of opportunities to improve your skills within the Trust while engaging with a range of roles across DBTH. The role will involve close working relationships with the Trust procurement department, finance, project teams, technical teams and Digital Practitioner team.
Main duties of the job
The role will be to support the Digital Contracts Manager to carry out secure and compliant procurement processes to obtain best value in the procurement of all digital goods and services to achieve the agreed Cost Improvement Programme (CIP).
The role will be varied and will involve communicating with the internal stakeholders, suppliers and always responding and acting in a professional manner.

- Be actively working towards Charted Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Level 4
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 Office applications
- Be able to prioritise and manage a varied workload
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have a keen eye for detail and maintain a high level of accuracy
- Have knowledge of a wide range of digital technologies both software and hardware
- Have knowledge of procurement rules and Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs)

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
- Hold a professional procurement qualification i.e CIPS Level 3 - Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, Level 3 apprenticeship and / or working towards CIPS Level 4 Foundation Diploma in Procurement and Supply or equivalent qualification/relevant experience
- 3 GCSE's A-C including Maths and English or equivalent qualification/relevant experience
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience of a purchase order system and the full procure to pay process
- Experience in buying and raising orders for those requirements in accordance with legislation and/ or policy or through tendering processes
- Experience of providing accurate information to management team members to produce reports etc
- Experience of Public Sector Frameworks
- Proven experience of utilising specialist IT / financial asset management software
- Working knowledge of corporate governance arrangements and public procurement legislation
Personal Attributes & Skills
- Strong communication skills via telephone, video conference and / or in writing
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced changing environment
- Ability to plan and organise own workload against varied business priorities
