Digital Project Manager

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for an experienced Project Manager to work within the Digital Transformation Department.

The Trust is looking for an enthusiastic individual to strengthen and support our existing Project Management team in delivering successful digital solutions across the Trusts services.

Applicants must hold a PRINCE2 foundation qualification and possess extensive experience managing project to tight timescales.

Main duties of the job

The Projects and Developments office is a busy environment, and the successful candidate must be able to prioritise their own workload, manage their time and complete tasks against the required time-frames and will be required to have a flexible approach to working to meet the demands of the project delivery. You will be required to manage a varied workload and must be able to work autonomously and as part of a team. The Project Management team primarily use PRINCE2 and Agile project management methodology. All candidates must be able to evidence the delivery of projects that transform ways of working utilising digital solutions.

Qualifications & Training

Essential
  • Hold a relevant degree or substantial equivalent experience in informatics
  • Extensive experience of working in the National Health Service informatics/training/projects or equivalent experience.
  • PRINCE 2 Foundation
Desirable
  • Holds a relevant Degree or has equivalent Project and Programme management experience
  • Prince2 Foundation or equivalent certification in Agile or Waterfall ITIL Foundation.
  • MSP Foundation

  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills with the ability to converse and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Communicate sensitive, complexed and detailed information.
  • Negotiation experience with relevant parties to maintain progress and resolve issues.
  • Working in diverse teams such as GP's, Clinicians, Consultants and other Healthcare Professionals. Together with ICT, Contractors Suppliers and Training professionals and support staff.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential
  • Experience of co-ordinating or planning activities for a group(s) of staff.
  • Experience of working within a framework of local or national policies, strategies or guidelines
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of programme and project management in the NHS and within a PRINCE 2 environment.
  • Experience of preparing project/programme documentation e.g. Business Cases, Project Initiation Documents, Project Plans, Highlight Reports, Exception Reports within a PRINCE 2 environment.
  • Understanding and experience of the management of risks.
  • Technical knowledge (including knowledge of equipment) - of ICT systems. Understanding of ICT system protocols and technologies, together with multi-site ICT environments.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly with Word and Excel.
  • Experienced at developing effective working relationships with other staff
  • Experience of delivering presentations
Desirable
  • Commitment to learn about and implement new technology and process to enhance personal and team performance
  • Knowledge of legislation and codes of practice - NHS Information Governance, Data Protection Act 1998 and Caldicott Principals.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Project and Programme Management, Delivery and Post Implementation Cycle
  • Clinical/therapeutic/social care knowledge - awareness of relevant process and legislation in GP, Primary and Secondary care environment.
  • Experience of using project management software such as MS Project
