EPR Information Analyst Team Manager

Job summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated analyst to join our Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme as EPR Information Analyst Team Manager.

This role will undertake the delivery of high quality performance and operational reporting throughout the EPR deployment, ensuring the Trust has the information required to manage services effectively and meet national and local standards.

You will manage analysts and work closely with EPR workstreams to provide robust analysis, insight and reporting that supports decision making, performance monitoring and service improvement across the organisation.

You will produce statutory, operational and corporate reporting to ensure successfully delivered of the Trusts EPR.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for:

Leading the day to day delivery of the EPR Information requirements

Delivering accurate, timely and high quality corporate and operational reporting

Managing the development, validation and submission of statutory and national datasets

Supporting the delivery of key performance reporting, including national targets and contractual requirements

Developing dashboards, automated reporting and business intelligence outputs to support EPR delivery

Working closely with EPR workstreams to provide analysis and insight required

Ensuring data is interpreted and communicated clearly to clinicians, managers and stakeholders

Monitoring delivery against EPR plans and supporting readiness for go live

Driving improvements in reporting processes and ensuring all procedures are documented and reviewed

Promoting awareness of data standards and ensuring compliance with national and local requirements

Qualifications & Training

Essential
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline and post graduate diploma or equivalent experience in an Information role.
  • Proven knowledge and skills in Microsoft Database environments (SQL) and systems programming languages gained through a combination of short courses and formal training.
  • Practical experience in developing databases and information management reporting solutions.
  • Academic knowledge of the theory of database concepts and design.
Desirable
  • Membership of appropriate professional organisation
  • PRINCE Project Management - Foundation level and practical experience of successful project management

Knowledge & Experience

Essential
  • Academic knowledge of the theory of database concepts and design
  • Good knowledge of business process in an NHS Trust providing a good understanding of information requirements at an operational level
  • A good working knowledge of NHS Performance targets and performance frameworks and the extensive varied sources of information
  • Detailed knowledge of the effects of poor data quality on patient experience and other Trust and national agendas
  • Detailed and expert knowledge of NHS Data Definitions and technical documentation and guidance with an ability to interpret and apply to both standard and non-standard complex situations
  • Detailed knowledge of 18 Weeks and National Tariff including technical information knowledge to an advanced level
  • Demonstrable detailed knowledge and experience of NHS statutory reporting
  • Extensive experience within an NHS Information/ Performance role at a senior management level
  • Extensive experience of data collection and data management procedures and patient administration procedures
  • Practical experience in developing databases and information management reporting solutions
  • Experience of developing and implementing and managing organisation wide information reporting systems which fulfil organisational needs
  • Experience in prioritising team workloads and working within tight and challenging timescales
  • Advanced numeracy skills and intermediate statistical techniques
  • Example of usage of statistical techniques to aid service improvement
  • Advanced systems analysis skills to interpret user's requirements and work through solutions from conception to delivery
  • Ability to deal with staff performance and handle other people's emotions without becoming personally involved
Desirable
  • Understanding and basic experience of process mapping and re-design
  • High level use of statistical analysis to understand and evaluate a problem to then provide detailed summaries of findings
