EPR Information Services Manager

Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated information manager to join our Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme as EPR Information Services Manager.

This is a key role responsible for leading the delivery of high quality information and reporting to support the successful implementation and ongoing operation of the EPR.You will lead a team of analysts, ensuring the provision of accurate, timely and reliable information to support clinical, operational and strategic decision making across the Trust.

You will ensure that all statutory, operational and corporate reporting is successfully delivered through the implementation of the Trusts EPR.

Working closely with clinical, operational and digital colleagues, you will ensure that information services fully support the EPR programme objectives and deliver real benefits for patient care, performance and efficiency.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for:

Leading the day to day management and development of the EPR Information Services team

Delivering high quality, accurate and timely information to support EPR programme planning and delivery

Designing and implementing information solutions to meet evolving EPR requirements

Overseeing statutory and operational reporting, ensuring compliance with national standards and guidance

Driving improvements in data quality, data standards and reporting processes across the Trust

Managing the prioritisation, allocation and delivery of analytical work to meet programme demands

Supporting the development of data warehouse and reporting capabilities aligned to EPR objectives

Monitoring performance, governance and compliance with information and data policies

Providing expert advice to clinicians, managers and stakeholders on information and reporting solutions

Representing the Trust at local and national information forums where required

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

Essential
  • Minimum of 5 years experience within an Information role within the NHS
  • Good understanding of the patient pathway, Trust data collection systems, in particular the PAS system, and links with data quality
  • Detailed and expert knowledge of NHS statutory reporting
  • Skilled in complex data analysis and interpretation, reporting and presenting complex, sensitive and contentious information to Directors, Managers, Clinicians and other staff groups
  • Ability to judge whether issues can be locally managed or should be referred higher.

Personal Attributes & Skills

Essential
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Ability to manage an extensive and complex workload efficiently including defining and monitoring work streams for other team members

Qualifications & Training

Essential
  • Relevant masters or equivalent highly developed specialist knowledge and experience in Information Management and staff management
