About the role
Dorking Healthcare Ltd (DHC) is offering an exciting opportunity for an IT Support Technician Apprentice to join our organisation while completing a Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship.
This role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in IT within a healthcare environment. You'll work closely with our IT Manager, gaining hands-on experience supporting staff across the organisation and learning about IT service delivery, digital systems, cybersecurity awareness, and emerging technologies, including AI.

Main duties of the job
What you will be doing
This role combines hands-on IT support with structured training and mentoring to help you become an IT professional, gradually building your skills and confidence as you progress through your apprenticeship.
You will provide first-line IT support to staff, helping to resolve common technical issues and ensuring people can work effectively. This will include:
- setting up, configuring and supporting IT equipment
- exposure to basic networking and connectivity troubleshooting
- helping to identify and resolve issues under supervision
- help maintain accurate IT records
You will be involved in the testing and rollout of new digital and AI solutions, supporting wider digital projects across the organisation. This will give you insight into how technology is implemented and improved within a healthcare environment.
Throughout the role, you will work with internal colleagues, external IT suppliers and NHS digital teams as required, while learning and applying best practice around data security, access controls and information governance.
You will be supporting an organisation with a Surrey-wide presence, so the ability to travel to different sites is essential.
