Salary:  Grade 9 - Starts at £50,949 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £55,944 per annum

Contract: Internal Secondment or Fixed term appointment until April 2028

We are seeking an experienced and high level project manager to join our established Commissioning Team based at the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) in Middlemoor.

You will be manage a complex portfolio of contracts with a combined value in excess of £4million, providing strong commercial oversight and ensuring effective contract performance. The role will require you to work confidently across a diverse range of stakeholders, often balancing competing priorities and interests. You will chair meetings, engage directly with suppliers, undertake visits and use detailed performance data to identify trends, risks and areas for improvement. Strong analytical capability is essential, including the ability to use Power BI to interrogate and analyse complex data. You will bring credibility, confidence and professional gravitas to challenge constructively, influence the stakeholders and represent the organisation.

You will lead and contribute to commissioning activity across a range of services inform procurement and support service design. You will work with partners and providers to develop effective, sustainable outcomes and value for money.

This post is offered on an Internal Secondment or Fixed-term until April 2028.

In November 2024, the Government announced its intention to abolish the role of Police and Crime Commissioner in May 2028. At present, it remains unclear how the statutory functions currently undertaken by the OPCC will be delivered beyond that date, whether a successor body will be established, or whether responsibilities and staff may transfer to another organisation. Applicants should therefore be aware of this uncertainty when considering this opportunity.
