Senior Embedded Test Engineer
We’re looking for a Senior Embedded Test Engineer to shape the testing strategy for a greenfield medical device project.
You’ll work across embedded firmware, hardware, UI, and hospital system integration - building test frameworks and processes from the ground up in a regulated, safety-critical environment.
This is a rare opportunity to define how quality is engineered into a complex system from day one.
About you:
- You enjoy working on and improving complex safety-critical systems through designing effective test strategies.
- You likely started your career in embedded or firmware engineering and have since specialised in testing, verification, or automation.
- You’ll be a strong collaborator and communicator and will understand the importance of working closely with engineers to make code testable working mainly with C/C++ and Python.
- You enjoy working closely with multidisciplinary teams and having the autonomy to shape how testing is approached.
What you'll need:
- Experience testing embedded or Linux-based systems at system level
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or integration testing
- Familiarity with safety-critical or regulated environments (e.g. IEC 62304)
- Experience designing or building automated test frameworks or infrastructure
Why join:
- Opportunity to define test architecture and tooling from scratch
- Work on complex, multi-component systems spanning firmware, hardware, UI, and clinical integration
- Influence how quality is engineered into the product from day one
- Fantastic people who are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about making the world a better place
- A flat structure, your opinion is valued and everyone is considered a teacher no matter your level
What's on offer:
- Salary is up to £74,000 + company performance bonus
- Flexible, hybrid working with in-person collaboration favoured
- Private healthcare, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, 25 days annual leave
- Lunch 'n' learns, free lunches, free breakfasts and lots going on socially and educationally (engineering meet-ups etc.)
We look forward to receiving your application!
