Technology Disputes Associate

Work at the intersection of law, innovation, and technology. This opportunity is for a disputes lawyer who thrives in fast-evolving areas — AI, data, and digital transformation. You’ll join a leading Tech Disputes team within a Tier 1 IP Disputes group, working on some of the most cutting-edge cases in the UK market.You’ll advise clients on a broad range of complex technology and innovation disputes, including:
  • Contractual disputes relating to large-scale IT and digital transformation projects, software licensing, outsourcing, and technology procurement.
  • Claims involving negligence, misuse of data, breach of confidence, and trade secrets, often with cross-border elements.
  • Litigation before the English courts, as well as arbitration and ADR matters.
  • Supporting on cases involving software copyright and patent licence disputes where IP and tech overlap.
You’ll work with clients across technology, AI, fintech, telecoms, defence, life sciences, and sports tech — from household names to high-growth startups.What You’ll Need
  • 2–5 years’ PQE in commercial litigation, IT disputes, or technology disputes, ideally from a recognised commercial or IP firm.
  • Strong understanding of technology contracts and innovation-driven disputes.
  • Experience with (or interest in) software, AI, and data-related issues.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters and client relationships.
  • A commercial mindset and the confidence to engage directly with clients and stakeholders.
A background in computer science or programming, or knowledge of IP areas such as software copyright and confidential information, is a plus but not essential. You’ll be part of a highly regarded, top tier IP disputes group that has acted in some of the most influential technology and IP cases of the last two decades — including appearances before the Court of Justice of the European Union.
