Marine Business Development Manager Job in Blandford Hybrid or Remote
We are excited to be working with a successful business based in Blandford. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a proactive and strategic Marine Business Development Manager with proven experience in the marine, renewable energy, or civil engineering sectors. This Marine Business Development Manager role is crucial in supporting the continued success by managing existing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and contributing to the overall strategic development of the company. As a Marine Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for deepening client engagement, developing a robust pipeline, and converting opportunities into long-term, high-value partnerships. You will work collaboratively with the Team Lead and the Managing Director to drive growth within targeted industries.
Salary and Benefits:
- A salary of circa £50,000 base, plus commission

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Retain and grow relationships with existing clients across key sectors (marine, renewable energy, civil engineering).
- Conduct an in-depth onboarding review of key clients, including project history, sector-specific challenges, and potential areas for value creation.
- Lead smooth handover and relationship-building process with existing clients post-onboarding.
- Drive client retention through consistent, high-quality engagement and service delivery.
- Collaborate with the Business Development Team Lead to set and track annual, quarterly, and monthly client targets.
- Monitor and proactively manage client health and satisfaction using client scorecards and feedback loops.
- Ensure contract renewals and renegotiations are initiated well before expiry.
- Maintain consistent communication via email, phone, Teams, and in-person meetings.
- Organise and lead weekly/fortnightly client review meetings with documented action points.
- Develop simple quarterly client reports focused on sector-specific deliverables, KPIs, and ROI.
- Win new clients in targeted sectors, aligned with growth strategy.
- Collaborate with the Business Development Manager Team Lead and the Managing Director to define strategic market sectors
- Build and manage a pipeline of high-quality leads, mapped to strategic objectives.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to tailor outreach campaigns and events toward your sectors.
- Research industry trends, competitors, and upcoming projects to identify opportunities.
- Prepare compelling, technically informed proposals, pitches, and client agreements that reflect deep understanding of project lifecycles.
- Lead business development meetings, presentations, and bid support activities.
- Track and report on KPIs
Minimum Skills and Experience Required:
- 3 7 years of business development, sales, or client relationship experience in one or more of the associated industries: Marine , Renewable energy, Civil engineering
- Proven track record of winning new business and retaining key accounts
- Familiarity with procurement cycles and bidding processes in public or private sector infrastructure projects
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Strategic thinking with the ability to identify opportunities and follow through to execution
- Degree in engineering, business, environmental science, or related field desirable
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
