Technical Project Manager

Drawn to the Light is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our growing London studio, working across themed entertainment, cruise ships, immersive experiences, live events and permanent installations worldwide.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical and project delivery experience who can confidently bridge creative design and real-world implementation. The successful candidate will lead technical coordination across multiple disciplines, driving projects from concept through detailed design, procurement, installation and commissioning while ensuring creative intent is delivered to the highest technical standard.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact on projects from concept through to final delivery
  • Coordinate between lighting, control systems, electrical infrastructure, AV, scenic and architectural teams
  • Attend design reviews, factory visits, mock-ups and commissioning sessions
  • Identify technical risks and develop practical solutions throughout the project lifecycle
  • Creation and coordination of technical drawings, schematics and documentation
  • Management of vendor, freelancer and subcontractor relationships and contracts
  • Development and oversight of project schedules, technical deliverables and installation programmes
  • Review of vendor designs, technical submissions and fabrication documentation for compliance with project requirements
  • Oversight of mock-ups, testing, commissioning and on-site technical integration
  • Coordination with clients, fabricators, integrators, shipyards and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Support procurement, specification and scope-of-work documentation
  • International travel for site visits, installations, commissioning periods and project meetings
  • Maintain strong awareness of health & safety and installation best practice

Experience and Personality:

  • Experience within themed entertainment, cruise ships, live events, immersive experiences, AVL integration
  • Strong Vectorworks or AutoCAD experience essential - ConnectCAD experience highly desirable
  • Confident understanding of technical systems integration and installation workflows
  • Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, control systems and systems integration
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders, vendors and contractors
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a fast-moving creative environment
  • Must hold a valid passport and be eligible for international travel, including entry to the United States

This role will be reviewed every 12 months (6 months initially) to support professional development and ensure alignment with the evolving needs of the studio and the individual.
