Software Engineer (London Area)

Equities Java Developer | London (Onsite)

We're hiring a Full Stack Java Developer to join our front office technology team, supporting our Fundamental L/S Equities business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys close collaboration with portfolio managers, quants, and risk teams to build robust tools and infrastructure that drive investment decisions.

You’ll work in a fast-paced, agile environment where you'll design and develop applications, APIs, and data pipelines that streamline research, portfolio construction, and risk workflows. You'll be part of a global team of technologists committed to delivering scalable, supportable, and business-aligned solutions.

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years of core Java development experience
• Solid SQL and relational database skills
• Experience working in finance (e.g. bank, hedge fund, or trading firm)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Comfortable working across the full technology stack (frontend, backend, database)
• Bonus: Experience with web development (e.g. TypeScript/React) or Python

What you’ll be working on:

• Building front-to-back tools to support analysts and PMs in research and decision-making
• Designing APIs and pipelines with a focus on performance and reliability
• Improving infrastructure to enhance system scalability and maintainability
• Supporting and evolving existing platforms and applications

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with equity markets or other asset classes
• Exposure to technologies like Kafka, Docker, Snowflake, or InfluxDB
