The Opportunity

We are working with a leading financial services organisation undergoing a major cloud-native transformation programme, centred around a large-scale Kubernetes and microservices adoption initiative.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will help design, build, and stabilise the core platform layer that underpins mission-critical financial systems.

You will be joining a high-performing engineering environment focused on scalable, resilient, and production-grade cloud infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Building and scaling Kubernetes-based infrastructure (EKS / AKS / GKE equivalent environments)
  • Supporting a large-scale microservices migration from legacy systems
  • Designing and implementing cloud-native platform capabilities (CI/CD, observability, automation)
  • Developing and improving Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred)
  • Enhancing system reliability, resilience, and deployment patterns
  • Working closely with engineering teams to enable self-service platform capabilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve Kubernetes cluster architecture in a production environment
  • Support application teams transitioning to microservices-based architecture
  • Build and maintain scalable deployment pipelines (CI/CD)
  • Implement observability standards (logging, metrics, tracing)
  • Contribute to reliability engineering and incident response processes
  • Ensure platform security, governance, and compliance requirements are met

Required Experience

We are looking for strong hands-on platform / cloud engineers with:

  • Extensive experience with Kubernetes in production environments
  • Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
  • Proven experience working in microservices architectures
  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred)
  • Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines at scale
  • Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.)
  • Experience working in high-availability, production-critical environments

Nice to Have

  • Financial services or regulated environment experience
  • Exposure to large-scale migration or transformation programmes
  • SRE / DevOps mindset with on-call experience
  • Understanding of distributed systems design principles

The Environment

  • Large-scale cloud transformation programme
  • Engineering-led organisation with strong technical ownership
  • Complex, high-impact systems supporting real-time operations
  • Opportunity to shape foundational platform architecture
