Job Title: Transmission Engineer

Location: North of England (Field-Based)

Salary: £300 per day (Inside IR35) | 6-Month Contract

The Company

A leading telecoms delivery partner is looking to bring on a team of experienced Transmission Engineers to support a large-scale project across multiple sites in the North of England. With a strong pipeline of work and a focus on high-quality delivery, this role offers the opportunity to be part of a skilled and fast-moving team working on critical infrastructure projects.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Install and commission new network elements, including active cards, passive optical components, and associated fibre/power cabling
  • Commission and integrate Infinera, Ciena, and ECI equipment into live networks
  • Carry out site surveys and ensure installations are completed to the highest standards
  • Support network migrations, including occasional out-of-hours or night shift work
  • Liaise with NOCs and project teams, maintaining clear and accurate documentation
  • Travel to various sites across the North of England and potentially further afield as required

Your Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working on Virgin Media (VM) sites
  • Strong technical expertise with Infinera, Ciena, and ECI transmission systems
  • Sound knowledge of fibre networks and live telecoms environments
  • Comfortable working independently in the field and managing time effectively
  • Clean UK driving licence (essential)
  • Own vehicle preferred (mileage and expenses covered as per contract)
  • Must have full right to work in the UK
