IT Support Analyst
We have an exciting opportunity for a first line, IT Support Analyst to join a busy manufacturing business on a three-month fixed-term contract, created in response to increasing operational demands. This is a fully site-based role in Accrington, offering a pro rata salary of £30,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience, payrolled weekly. As an IT Support Analyst , you will play an important part in keeping users connected, productive and supported across a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
Role Overview:
As the first point of contact for IT support, you will provide responsive and practical assistance to colleagues across the site. In this IT Support Analyst role, you will diagnose and resolve day-to-day hardware, software, access and connectivity issues, administer users and devices within the Microsoft environment, and escalate more complex incidents when required. The role calls for a person-focused approach, sound technical judgement and the ability to prioritise effectively in a time-sensitive production setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain Microsoft Entra ID user and guest accounts, assign security groups, and ensure access permissions remain accurate and secure.
- Onboard and manage desktops, laptops and Apple devices through Microsoft Intune, monitoring and troubleshooting configuration and compliance policy deployment.
- Administer SharePoint sites by managing user access, permissions, lists and document stores, while monitoring security and access rights.
- Support Microsoft Teams administration, including channel management, user assignment, permissions and security access.
- Support Windows Server 2022 environments, including server creation and management, with a focus on file server roles, permissions and secure access.
- Manage and troubleshoot Meraki switches, wireless access points, VPN access and firewall rules to maintain reliable connectivity.
- Provide first-line support for Windows desktops and Microsoft 365 applications, resolving login, access, Office and Outlook issues.
- Log, prioritise and progress incidents through the ticketing system, escalating more complex issues when required.
Experience Required:
- A minimum of one to two year's experience in an IT support, service desk or help desk role, ideally as an IT Support Analyst .
- Working knowledge of operating systems, business software, ticketing systems and user administration.
- Hands-on experience supporting users in a Microsoft environment, ideally including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint and Teams.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to users at all levels.
- A logical, proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to respond quickly, organise competing priorities and remain effective in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
