Finance Transformation and Systems Manager (18 month FTC)
EA First is delighted to be partnering with a Social Housing Provider in Coventry to recruit a Finance Transformation & Systems Manager on an initial 18 month fixed term contract (FTC). The role is paying £70,000 per annum, plus attractive benefits and hybrid working.
Our client is a well-established organisation operating within the social housing sector. As the organisation continues to evolve and work through a digital transformation project, it is investing in its finance infrastructure, systems and processes to ensure they are fit for the future. A key priority is preparing the organisation for the increased scrutiny and requirements associated with becoming a large registered provider. This transformation will include introducing a new finance system, improving integration with wider organisational systems and developing stronger reporting capabilities to support both strategic decision making and regulatory compliance. It is an excellent time to join an organisation where finance transformation is firmly on the agenda and where this role will have genuine influence over how the function operates in the future.
As Finance Transformation & Systems Manager, you will lead a comprehensive programme of change across finance, with responsibility for both the successful implementation of a new finance system and the wider transformation of processes, controls and reporting. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the end-to-end procurement of a new finance system, from requirements definition and tendering through to vendor selection.
- Managing the implementation programme, including configuration, testing and training.
- Ensuring effective integration between the finance system and wider organisational platforms, including housing and asset management systems.
- Developing reporting capabilities that meet both internal management and regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing existing finance processes, controls and reporting to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Streamlining and automating processes to improve efficiency across the finance function.
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement.
- Enhancing management financial reporting to provide greater insight and support better decision making.
- Supporting readiness for the compliance requirements associated with being a large registered provider.
- Reviewing and strengthening financial controls and processes.
- Supporting audit activity and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
This is a broad transformation position requiring someone who can set the direction while remaining close enough to the detail to ensure change is successfully delivered.
We are looking for an experienced finance professional who understands the social housing environment and can confidently lead complex transformation and systems projects.
Essential experience and qualifications:
- Fully qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA/CGMA, CIPFA or equivalent.
- Previous experience working within a registered provider of social housing.
- Strong understanding of social housing finance, regulatory requirements and reporting.
- Demonstrable finance transformation and/or process improvement experience.
- Experience leading, or playing a significant role in, a finance system implementation.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Comfortable operating both strategically and hands on.
- Experience preparing an organisation for growth or regulatory change would be particularly advantageous.
- Knowledge of the RSH regulatory framework and financial viability standards is desirable.
You will be a strategic thinker with a strong delivery focus, able to lead change and influence stakeholders at different levels. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills will be essential, alongside excellent attention to detail and a clear focus on financial controls and compliance.
