Financial Controller - 1 day a week in the office

Initially being offered as a 12 month fixed term contract, with expectation of a permanent role afterwards, this is a Financial Controller opportunity for a £10m t/o SaaS organisation where you will be responsible for 7, mainly European, Entities. I am looking for someone who has international experience and can adapt to various compliance and regulatory requirements. This role is largely home based but you will be expected in the office in Cambridge 1 day per week.

This role is pivotal in leading the financial control and accounting operations of a multi-entity international group. The successful candidate will ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence across several jurisdictions, delivering high-quality management information to support strategic decision-making.

  • Lead the end-to-end finance operations - including management accounting, AP, AR, banking, and revenue recognition - ensuring strong processes, compliance, and high-quality reporting across the international group.
  • Provide strong leadership and mentoring to an international, predominately remote international finance team, creating a culture of empowerment, clear communication, and shared responsibility for delivering excellence.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with each country's relevant tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting
  • Provide financial insight and guidance to senior leadership, supporting strategic and operational decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment of financial objectives with broader business goals.
  • Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, and take ownership of implementing solutions.
  • Manage annual audits across multiple territories, liaising with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth audits and compliance reviews.
  • Monitor evolving accounting standards and tax laws, implementing necessary updates to maintain compliance.
  • Conduct regular assessments and risk evaluations to identify potential compliance issues and develop proactive solutions.
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA)
  • Demonstrable experience as a Financial Controller within an international, multi-entity organisation.
  • Strong technical understanding of accounting standards (GAAP and IFRS), tax compliance, and regulatory frameworks.

£75,000 plus Benefits
