Onsite 2nd Line Helpdesk Engineer
EAC are currently recruiting for an experienced 1st / 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join a busy operational environment in Great Barford.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys being hands-on and working directly with users. You will be the on-site IT presence, supporting office, workshop and warehouse teams across three locations and working closely with the wider IT team, third-party suppliers and customer management.
The role would suit someone who is confident working independently, enjoys problem-solving and takes ownership of issues from start to finish.
Please note: this role operates an early shift, with a 07:00 start Monday to Friday until 3:30pm.
- Salary £32,000 - £35,000
- Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to office, workshop and warehouse users
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues
- Support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners and warehouse terminals
- Configure and deploy new hardware and user devices
- Manage user accounts, permissions and access
- Provide support for Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint
- Support Windows 10/11 and on-premises Windows Server environments
- Provide support for Terminal Server / RDS, including systems used for Sage
- Support business applications including Syrinx and Sage
- Troubleshoot basic LAN/WAN, switching, cabling and connectivity issues
- Liaise with third-party providers and escalate more complex issues where required
- Monitor systems and proactively identify potential issues
- Maintain accurate IT documentation and handover notes
- Ensure IT procedures, standards and security requirements are followed
- Provide a professional and customer-focused service to all users
About You
- Experience providing 1st / 2nd Line IT Support
- Good knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server
- Experience with Microsoft 365 / Office 365
- Knowledge of Terminal Server / RDS
- Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, switching and connectivity troubleshooting
- Experience supporting users within a warehouse, logistics or operational environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving
