My client is a London-based agentic AI startup building production-grade AI systems for financial services. Backed by strong investors and already working with regulated institutions, they are now looking for a Head of Engineering to lead their next phase of scale.

The role

You'll own engineering execution, scale, architecture, and team growth - working closely with the founders to turn cutting-edge agentic AI into secure, scalable, real-world products.

What you'll do

• Lead and scale a high-performing engineering team
• Own delivery, platform reliability, and technical direction
• Productionise agentic AI / LLM-driven systems
• Build robust, secure systems for regulated financial environments
• Set engineering culture, standards, and best practices

What we're looking for

• Proven engineering leadership experience
• Strong backend / platform engineering background
• Experience working with AI/ML systems (LLMs, applied AI)
• Experience with financial services, fintech, or regulated domains
• Hands-on, pragmatic, and comfortable with ambiguity
