Graduate Technical Sales Engineer

Seeking a bright technologist who is keen to progress in a sales career

This fast-growing technology company is seeking a bright graduate with top qualifications in science or engineering and either some existing technical sales experience or an interest in transitioning to a sales career.  As their product is pushing the state of the art in AI-enabled defence systems, it's essential that you have the technical background to be able to converse knowledgeably with potential clients and members of the technical team.

Joining a small collaborative sales team, you would be a key part of the company's continuing success, helping promote technologies that have the potential to thwart attacks on critical government infrastructure or civilian targets. The role will involve you identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing the sales cycle from initial contact to signed contract, responding to RFPs (Requests for Proposals), and ensuring regulatory compliance and company  objectives are met.

Essential attributes:
•  Top notch STEM education including a 1st class degree from a leading university and excellent supporting A levels (or equivalent)
•  As your clients would principally be within the government and military sectors, a demonstrable interest in defence and security technologies is essential
•  Excellent communication skills, dependability,  and attention to detail
•  Eligibility to obtain a UK SC-level security clearance and pre-existing work permission
•  A driving license and the ability/willingness to travel internationally on business.

This is a great opportunity to build the skills and experience you will need for a successful sales career and to see your role develop as the company grows. Training will be provided for candidates without sales experience, but an enthusiasm for sales or business development is expected. The role is based on-site to the south of Cambridge, later moving to central Cambridge.
