Lead Systems Engineer

Steering the development of automated therapeutics manufacturing systems

Joining this healthcare start-up, you would lead their systems engineering effort, driving the development of custom automated manufacturing systems for advanced therapeutics based on configurable high-tech subsystems. You would thus be contributing to the adoption of revolutionary (and previously prohibitively expensive) treatments for currently intractable diseases. With their technology now being applied to real healthcare initiatives, this is a great time to join this collaborative multidisciplinary development team.

You will be a key employee, bridging the gap between the company's strategic vision and their evolving technology base, and helping to define both their processes and their product. Your expertise will help ensure scalability, fitness for purpose, and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

Essential attributes:

- A strong academic background with a 1st or 2.1 in a relevant engineering discipline from a highly ranked university

- Prior success in delivering complex cross-disciplinary automation projects within a pharmaceutics or high tech manufacturing context

- Excellent understanding of Systems Engineering from requirements capture to customer acceptance

- Broad engineering knowledge

- Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and inspire co-workers; ability to generate technical documentation (for instance for regulatory compliance)

- Full, existing, and unrestricted UK work permission

This is an innovative impactful company at a relatively early stage in their development. They are well backed by a successful parent organisation, and are able to offer an excellent salary and benefits package combined with an exciting start-up vibe. They have a collaborative mission driven culture and are based in pleasant modern offices close to Cambridge.
