ECS Resource Group is currently working with a leading technology organisation to assist with the search for a Cloud Governance Analyst. This role plays a pivotal part in overseeing cloud governance while ensuring cost efficiency and financial accountability across cloud platforms.
As a Cloud Governance Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Working with key stakeholders to take charge of the cloud governance strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities within the cloud environment and supporting mitigation measures.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and internal teams to establish SLAs and KPIs that strengthen governance, security posture, and operational efficiency of cloud environments.
- Partnering with FinOps to implement effective cost controls, support cloud cost optimisation initiatives, and enable visibility of cloud spending across teams.
- Ensuring strict adherence to established cloud standards, principles, and best practices.
- Establishing cloud training programs to ensure technologies are being used efficiently and cost-effectively.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong understanding of cloud computing models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and deployment types (public, private, hybrid).
- Strong understanding of cloud fundamentals across Azure and AWS.
- Expertise in cloud governance, including risk assessment, mitigation, auditing, and compliance.
- Experience with cloud governance frameworks, policies, and standards for resource management.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, cost tracking, and reporting tools.
- Understanding of FinOps principles and experience supporting cloud cost optimisation, budgeting, and efficiency initiatives.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or CCSP certification (highly desirable).
