Job Title: First Line Field Engineer - Windows 11 Upgrade
Location: Exeter, Plymouth, or Dartmouth (field-based)
Clearance Requirement: NPPV3 (must be in place before starting)
Contract Type: Contract 4 Months

About the Role:

We are looking for a First Line Field Engineer to support a large-scale Windows 11 upgrade project across sites in Exeter, Plymouth, and Dartmouth. The role involves travelling to client locations, providing hands-on support, and ensuring a smooth transition for end users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site Windows 11 upgrades on desktops and laptops.
• Provide first-line technical support to end users during and after upgrades.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues, escalating where necessary.
• Install and configure applications, ensuring compatibility with Windows 11.
• Maintain accurate records of issues, resolutions, and upgrade progress.
• Adhere to security, compliance, and organisational IT standards.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven IT support or field engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
• Experience with troubleshooting hardware/software and basic networking.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
• Valid NPPV3 security clearance (mandatory).
• Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel across Exeter, Plymouth, and Dartmouth.

Desirable:

• Experience with OS deployments and upgrade projects.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Endpoint Manager (Intune).
• Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified, etc.).
