Rate: £400 - £425 per day (Outside IR35 - TBC)
Location: Remote (UK-based), occasional US collaboration

Overview

A fast-growing IT, technology, and telecoms business is seeking a Senior Marketing Consultant to bring clarity and alignment across its marketing function. The business has expanded rapidly through new products, acquisitions, and joint ventures, and marketing has not fully kept pace with this growth.

This interim role will provide senior, strategic marketing leadership during a period of change, helping to align messaging, improve the customer journey, and put scalable marketing foundations in place.



Role Purpose

To review, simplify, and align marketing strategy, positioning, and execution across a broad portfolio of IT, technology, and telecoms products and services, ensuring marketing effectively supports commercial objectives and future growth.



Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Alignment

  • Review the full portfolio of products, services, acquisitions, and joint ventures

  • Define and align marketing strategy with business and commercial goals

  • Create a clear, unified value proposition and messaging framework

  • Identify gaps, overlaps, and inconsistencies across marketing activity

Website & Customer Journey

  • Review the website and digital presence

  • Assess and improve the end-to-end customer journey

  • Recommend and prioritise improvements to structure, messaging, UX, and conversion

Content & Collateral

  • Audit all marketing materials, including sales decks, brochures, case studies, ebooks, and workbooks

  • Define a content and collateral strategy aligned to customer needs and sales enablement

  • Recommend what content should exist, what can be retired, and where improvements are needed

  • Ensure consistent messaging across all customer-facing materials

Sales Enablement & Internal Alignment

  • Work closely with sales and commercial teams to improve messaging clarity

  • Align marketing outputs with how complex IT and telecom solutions are sold

  • Act as a bridge between technical and commercial stakeholders

Foundations for Scale

  • Establish repeatable frameworks, guidelines, and documentation

  • Support handover to internal teams or agencies

  • Advise on future marketing capability, resourcing, and priorities



Key Deliverables

  • Marketing and brand review with clear recommendations

  • Unified positioning and messaging framework

  • Website and customer journey improvement roadmap

  • Content and collateral strategy (including ebooks/workbooks)

  • Documented marketing frameworks and handover



Candidate Profile

  • Senior marketing experience (e.g. Head of Marketing, Marketing Director, Senior Consultant)

  • Background in IT, technology, telecoms, or complex B2B environments

  • Experience navigating growth, acquisitions, or transformation

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and shaping a role

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Commercially focused with a clear, strategic mindset
