Business Analyst (Contract) – Microsoft Business Central / D365 Migration

Nottingham (2 days per week onsite)

Initial 6-month contract (likely to extend)

We’re working with a leading IT managed services business undertaking a major transformation programme, migrating from a legacy ERP to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central integrated with Dynamics 365 Sales (CRM). We’re looking for an experienced Business Analyst contractor to support this programme end-to-end.

Responsibilities

Lead requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops, and process mapping (As-Is / To-Be)

Support delivery across the full lifecycle: discovery, design, UAT, and cutover

Design and optimise end-to-end quote-to-cash processes (CRM → ERP)

Define and align product, pricing, customer, and order data models across CRM and ERP

Work closely with delivery teams and SI partners to shape Business Central-aligned solutions

Support data migration, UAT planning/execution, and business readiness activities

Drive process standardisation aligned to Business Central best practice

Engage with stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Service Delivery, and Technology, challenging legacy processes and driving adoption

Essential Requirements

Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst delivering ERP transformation programmes

Hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (essential)

Demonstrable experience delivering end-to-end Business Central implementations (requirements through to go-live)

Strong experience with Dynamics 365 Sales (CRM), including:

  • Product catalogue
  • Pricing
  • Quoting
  • Experience designing and optimising quote-to-cash processes across CRM and ERP

Strong understanding of core Business Central modules:

  • Finance
  • Sales & Purchasing
  • Inventory
  • Service / Subscriptions / Projects

Experience supporting data migration, UAT, and cross-system testing

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to challenge and influence across business and technology teams

Experience configuring or implementing CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) functionality within CRM

Experience defining and developing data models to support CRM–ERP integrations

Background working in complex, service-led environments (products, managed services, lifecycle services)
