DAS Design Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced DAS (Distributed Antenna System) Design Engineer to join our technical team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, planning, and implementing large-scale in-building wireless solutions throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed DAS designs using iBwave Design software for commercial, healthcare, hospitality, and other complex venues

• Conduct site surveys and RF walk tests to gather necessary data for system design

• Analyse RF propagation and develop coverage prediction models

• Create technical documentation including system layouts, link budgets, and equipment specifications

• Collaborate with project managers and installation teams during implementation

• Perform post-installation verification testing and optimisation

• Troubleshoot RF and network-related issues in existing systems

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry standards in wireless communications

• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise Required Qualifications

• iBwave Design certification (Level 2 or higher preferred)

• Minimum 3+ years' experience designing DAS systems for large-scale in-building projects within the UK

• Demonstrated experience with major UK mobile network operators' requirements and specifications

• Strong understanding of RF engineering principles including propagation, link budgets, and antenna systems

• Proficiency with modern wireless technologies including 4G/LTE, 5G, and upcoming advances

• Experience with multiple DAS technologies (passive, active, hybrid)

• Familiarity with UK telecom regulations and standards

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication abilities and client-facing experience Desirable Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field

• Knowledge of small cell and other complementary wireless technologies

• Experience with public safety radio systems integration

• RCDD or equivalent certification

• Project management experience

• Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) Benefits
