Information Technology Support Engineer (Hiring Immediately)

2nd Line IT Support Engineer – Step into 3rd Line | Nottinghamshire | Hybrid

Are you an experienced 2nd Line Engineer ready to take the next step towards 3rd Line?

We're working with a growing, fast-paced tech business in Nottinghamshire that's looking for a client-focused IT Support Engineer to join their close-knit team.

If you're keen to work across a variety of technologies, get involved in project work, and expand your technical capabilities – this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

This is a hybrid role, blending remote work with time at their offices and regular client visits across the East Midlands. It’s a hands-on, customer-facing role where you'll be part of a collaborative team supporting a broad and interesting client base.

What you'll be doing:

  • Act as a key escalation point for 1st/2nd line tickets and take ownership of complex technical issues.
  • Support and contribute to infrastructure upgrade and migration projects.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
  • Investigate and resolve networking issues (VPNs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routing).
  • Provide root cause analysis and deliver permanent fixes.
  • Deliver excellent customer service through clear communication and on-site support.
  • Help maintain and develop internal documentation and knowledge sharing processes.
  • Support occasional out-of-hours work for critical projects or support.

What we're looking for:

  • Solid experience in a 2nd Line Support or similar technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and support.
  • Experience with Intune / Endpoint Manager and Windows Server environments.
  • Familiar with Azure Active Directory (AAD) and modern workplace technologies.
  • Confident with troubleshooting networking components (firewalls, VPNs, switches, routers).
  • A natural problem-solver who’s keen to take on more responsibility and deepen technical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills – you'll be client-facing and part of a team.
  • A full UK driving licence and happy to travel to local client sites.

Why this role?

  • A brilliant stepping stone into 3rd Line and project-based work.
  • Exposure to a wide range of technologies and real hands-on experience.
  • Join a growing company where your ideas and input are genuinely valued.
  • Supportive leadership, ongoing training, and clear routes for progression.
  • Hybrid working with flexibility and variety day-to-day.
