Overview
Were looking for a Technical Project Manager who sits comfortably between architecture and delivery. Someone who can take complex technical designs and turn them into structured, governed, and deliverable programmes of work.
This is a highly technical project management role, working across the full technology estate from network and server infrastructure through to applications, data, and systems integration. Youll be part of a digital transformation function that is reshaping how technology operates across the organisation.
Architectural plans and designs already exist. Your role is to own, document, validate, and coordinate those designs into structured delivery frameworks, ensuring they move from blueprint to execution with precision and accountability.
The Role
As Technical Project Manager, youll:
- Own all architecture documentation, frameworks, and delivery plans across a portfolio of technology change projects.
- Work alongside architects and technical specialists to ensure designs are accurately documented, validated, and implemented.
- Lead the technical authoring of high-level and low-level design documents (HLDs/LLDs).
- Coordinate dependencies across the full stack network, infrastructure, applications, integrations, and user services.
- Act as the bridge between architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment throughout.
- Govern the change process from design through to implementation, ensuring quality and compliance at every stage.
- Translate complex technical information into structured, stakeholder-friendly documentation and updates.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full ownership of architectural documentation and validation frameworks.
- Manage the process of converting architectural plans into actionable project deliverables.
- Facilitate reviews, approvals, and change control with architects, engineers, and programme leads.
- Ensure alignment between technology design, delivery, and business outcomes.
- Track risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple layers of technology.
- Promote consistency and governance within the documentation process.
- Support ongoing improvement of architecture and change frameworks as the business evolves.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager, Technology Change Manager, or Infrastructure Project Manager.
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology architecture and digital transformation delivery.
- Background in a technical discipline such as systems engineering, infrastructure, or solution architecture.
- Ability to interpret and author HLDs/LLDs and supporting technical documentation.
- Excellent documentation, technical writing, and version control skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability able to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Solid understanding of governance, validation, and delivery frameworks within large-scale transformation programmes.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted documentation and automation tools seen as a future advantage, but not required today.
- Project management certification (Prince2, PMP, or Agile) preferred.
