IT Systems Administrator

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain corporate IT systems, including Windows and Linux servers, endpoints, and associated infrastructure, ensuring they remain current, secure, well-documented, and aligned with IT governance standards.
- Administer device and endpoint management platforms (e.g. Intune), covering deployment, patching, compliance, inventory, and security hardening.
- Administer and govern enterprise cloud platforms and applications, including Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, covering identity and access control, application onboarding, configuration, and operational support.
- Ensure the secure adoption of cloud, SaaS, and AI-assisted productivity tools, enforcing controls in line with EML security and compliance requirements.
- Maintain system security through patching, hardening, access control management, and adherence to IT security policies across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Support joiner, mover, and leaver processes, ensuring timely and secure provisioning and de-provisioning of user access, devices, and applications.
- Monitor system and application health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact users or operations, leveraging AI-assisted monitoring and alerting tooling where it improves visibility and reduces manual overhead.
- Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures across infrastructure and cloud services to support business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Provide technical support to end users across devices, operating systems, and applications, resolving hardware and software issues in line with SLA targets with a customer-focused and methodical approach to problem resolution.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles covering systems, platforms, and support processes.
- Support vendor and third-party service providers where required, including escalation, coordination, and service improvement activities.
- Participate in project work and continuous improvement initiatives across Corporate Technology.

Qualifications
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills across Windows and Linux server environments, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues methodically and accurately.
- Sound knowledge of enterprise IT systems including Active Directory, group policy, and endpoint management.
- Security awareness with practical understanding of system hardening, access control practices, and the data handling obligations introduced by modern SaaS and AI-assisted workplace tools.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to documentation and process compliance.
- Effective communication skills, with a customer-focused approach to technical support across all levels of the organisation.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years in IT systems administration, with experience managing Windows and Linux environments in enterprise settings.
- Hands-on experience with backup and recovery tools and procedures, including tested recovery scenarios.
- Exposure to cloud environments including Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Vendor certifications such as Microsoft or CompTIA are preferred.
Skills
- System monitoring and performance management tools, including familiarity with AI-assisted monitoring platforms that support proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Scripting in PowerShell or Bash for task automation, including automation of routine administrative and compliance tasks.
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions.
