HQ location, Newcastle (this role is hybrid/remote) with a requirement to attend office for meetings.

My client who are entering a period of growth are expending their commercial team and are hiring a Business Development Manager to join their global software business based in North East.
Their award winning software offers an innovative solution to the renewables sector, helping reduce costs, speed up projects and de-risk projects. But renewable industry experience is not essential in this role (although, would be lovely to have).
This role is hybrid remote, with an office in Newcastle, living close to the office will still be a requirement for collaboration meetings.
What will you be doing?
- As a vital part of their commercial team, you will create, identify, grow and close revenue generating opportunities with new clients.
- This isn't just about selling software, it’s about strategic relationship building across the renewable ecosystem.
- Driving sales for their core engineering SaaS solutions as well as their bespoke consultancy and R&D projects.
- Manage key accounts, building long term, high trust relationships with major industry customers and stakeholders.
- Represent the company at global conferences, panels and webinars
- Leverage your expertise to understand client challenges and share insights with leadership to help guide their product roadmap.
- Own the sales pipeline, managing proposals, navigate complex IP licensing contracts
- Utilise the CRM (HubSpot) to track the sales pipeline.
Essential skills and background:
- A proven track record of closing deals and managing contracts within a SaaS or time based consultancy business.
- Great communication skills, commercial awareness and the ability to explain complex technical concepts simply to any audience.
- The ability to travel UK and overseas to attend events and conferences
