AI Tech Programme Manager

We're looking for a dynamic and collaborative AI Tech Programme Manager to join our organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-impact programme, delivering innovative AI solutions that create real value for our customers and colleagues.

You'll have the chance to influence strategic decisions, lead large-scale initiatives and help unlock value through responsible, ethical AI.

Here's a taste of what you'll be doing:

  • Partner with the AI Group Product Lead and AI Tech Lead to define programme vision, roadmap and governance

  • Lead the AI Programme agenda, ensuring alignment, clarity and momentum across all initiatives

  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery across product, data and engineering teams to ensure AI solutions are designed, built and deployed effectively

  • Act as a bridge between technology and the wider business, translating complex initiatives into meaningful outcomes for stakeholders

  • Champion responsible, ethical AI practices that meet regulatory, cybersecurity and data governance standards

  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors and partners to ensure seamless integration with internal platforms

  • Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions to gather insights, align priorities and encourage innovation

  • Support a lean, experimental approach to test new ideas quickly and deliver tangible ROI

Are we the perfect match?

  • Proven experience managing large-scale programmes of work - being hands-on, driving initiatives from start to finish

  • Experience working with senior business stakeholders, translating complex initiatives into meaningful business outcomes

  • Experience managing large financial budgets and tracking ROI, helping the business understand the value of investments

  • 10+ years' experience in programme or project delivery management roles

  • Hands-on experience in planning and executing complex initiatives

  • Strong understanding of product management, agile ways of working and programme governance

  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Confident communicator with strong influencing and presentation abilities

  • Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, agile environment

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience of AI transformation

  • Experience in the Utilities sector

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration across product, engineering, data and operational units

  • Knowledge of AI governance, risk and compliance, including ethical AI principles and secure handling of data
