Level 3 Improvement Technician Apprentice

This exciting opportunity is for anybody wanting a career in Continuous Improvement, learning to use the lean toolbox to actively identify need and opportunity for improvement. Improvement Technicians will be responsible for delivery and coaching of improvement activity within an area of responsibility, associated with Lean and Six Sigma methods.

Role

You will use tried and tested tools and techniques to participate in improvement-based projects with a range of stake holders with operations. Working to the company's objectives related to improving efficiency whilst reducing cost through identification and elimination of the lean 8 wastes.

Day-to-day duties could involve:

  • Supporting the Divisional Continuous Improvement Leader with building CI Awareness
  • Delivery of “on-the-floor” Project Plans
  • Supporting the embedding of 5S Methodology & activities within the sites
  • Analysing data focusing on KPI performances, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Working in line with and Promoting all Health & Safety standards
  • Working with the SHEQ Team on Projects
  • Delivery of Lean Tool Training both classroom and “on-the-floor” based

Training

This is a level 3 Improvement Technician apprenticeship qualification, delivered over a period of 15 months. The apprentice will attend 12 monthly sessions at In-Comm Training Services in Telford, TF3 3AJ, and the remainder of the apprenticeship will be spent on the job alongside monthly assessment visits.

There will be a full-time opportunity once the apprenticeship has been completed. The salary will be reviewed after 12-months and there will be further opportunity to gain more qualifications and develop and progress onto higher qualifications or apprenticeships.
