Apprentice Data Technician
To support their continued growth EVM UK is looking for a motivated Apprentice Data Technician to join their Marketing department at their Southwater, West Sussex office. This is a hands-on apprenticeship where you will earn while you learn, working with data across the business and studying for your Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship.
Role
What you will gain:
- Working with data from across the business including sales, aftersales and parts. Sourcing, organising, analysing and presenting it so company teams make better, faster decisions
- Full training will be provided alongside your Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship so no previous experience in data or the minibus and coach sector will be needed to apply
Key Responsibilities:
Will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Sourcing & Managing Data
- Sourcing data securely from trusted internal and external sources, including our CRM system (Odoo), sales, aftersales and industry datasets
- Collating and formatting data so it is ready for processing, review and further analysis by colleagues
- Blending data from different sources and formats to explore how it supports our business needs
- Storing, managing and sharing data securely, in line with company procedures and GDPR requirements
Analysing & Presenting Data
- Analysing structured and unstructured data using basic statistical methods to support business outcomes
- Validating your results through cross-checking and other techniques to spot faults and ensure data quality
- Presenting data clearly for review and analysis using tables, charts, graphs and dashboards
Communication & Development
- Communicating results verbally, through reports and technical documentation, tailoring the message to your audience
- Collaborating with colleagues, customers and partners at all levels to create real value from data
- Taking ownership of your own development and keeping up to date with new tools, technologies and techniques
Who you will be:
- Someone who is curious with good attention to detail, a logical mindset and a genuine interest in numbers and technology.
- Someone confident using Microsoft Excel and Office; experience with Power BI and other data tools is an advantage but not essential
- Someone who is a logical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
- Someone who is a clear communicator and comfortable working with people at all levels
- Someone with the right to working in the Uk who is not in full-time education
- Someone committed to completing the Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship, including off-the-job training
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Off-the-job training will follow the time allocations outlined in the Occupational Standard.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship the apprentice will be offered a permanent position.
