Solutions Architect
An international financial institution is undertaking a major transformation programme aimed at improving operational efficiency and modernising technology across the organisation. As part of this initiative, they are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support the design and delivery of a bespoke, in-house procurement platform within the Corporate Functions technology area.
The Role
You will be responsible for designing end-to-end solutions that support business requirements and align with enterprise architecture standards. The role combines strategic solution design with hands-on technical architecture, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and fit for delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Translating business requirements and user stories into solution designs
- Defining conceptual, logical, and technical architecture
- Leading end-to-end solution architecture for a custom-built platform
- Ensuring solutions are cloud-based and aligned to Azure standards
- Supporting delivery teams through build, test, and release phases
- Working closely with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders
- Providing architectural guidance and ensuring governance standards are met
Technology & Platform Experience
Hands-on architectural experience with:
- Java (backend application design)
- Angular (frontend architecture)
- Camunda (workflow/BPM orchestration)
- MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL (data modelling and persistence)
- Microsoft Azure (cloud-native solution design)
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect on bespoke or in-house systems
- Strong experience in end-to-end architecture (application, data, integration, security)
- Experience producing High-Level Designs and technical documentation
- Strong knowledge of cloud architecture (Azure preferred)
- Experience with integration patterns such as APIs and event-driven systems
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Strong stakeholder management skills
Desirable:
- Experience in financial services or large corporate environments
- Experience with procurement or corporate systems (Finance, HR, Risk)
- Knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)
- Experience with Java-based solutions and modern cloud platforms
