We are looking for a Data & Analytics Developer to help us improve reporting, automate tasks, and turn data into useful information that supports decision-making across the charity.

This is an entry-level opportunity for a person who is looking to develop their skills in data, reporting, business intelligence and AI.

Working closely with teams across the organisation to understand business needs, develop reporting solutions and turn complex data into accessible, actionable insights.

Main duties of the job

What we're looking for:

  • Degree level or other equivalent Level 6 qualification
  • Demonstratable analytical and problem-solving skills
  • An interest in data, reporting, automation and AI
  • The ability to explain information clearly to different audiences
  • The ability to learn and apply new skills, systems and technologies.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience creating reports, dashboards and analytical solutions.
  • Ability to independently develop knowledge and skills using a range of learning resources.
  • Proficient in Excel (including data tables and Power Query) and Power BI.
  • Demonstratable organisational skills with attention to detail.

Job responsibilities

Developing and delivering business intelligence solutions that support informed decision-making across the organisation. Working with the data warehouse and reporting systems, to transform complex data into meaningful insights and robust reporting using tools such as Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate and Excel.

A key focus will be identifying and implementing opportunities to automate processes, improve the flow of information between systems, enhance data quality and increase operational efficiency. Supporting the adoption of Microsoft Copilot, AI-assisted analytics and other emerging technologies, helping to maximise their potential across the organisation.

Working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels, this position will promote the effective use of data, analytics, automation and AI by sharing knowledge, delivering training and encouraging best practice. Through a combination of technical expertise and stakeholder engagement, it will help embed a culture of continuous improvement and data-informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs to support data-driven decision making, including the Finance, Care, Retail and People teams
  • Develop and maintain analytical reports to monitor business performance and KPIs, using Fabric, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query, Power Apps, SharePoint, Excel and other software tools as required
  • Develop reports and visualisations from multiple sources to support planning, performance control and decision-making
  • Analyse data to identify opportunities for innovative reporting that communicates information clearly, attracts attention to key issues and supports effective decision-making
  • Review existing reporting solutions to ensure they meet the needs of stakeholders and are optimised for data quality and run efficiently; fix and develop as required
  • Assist with the production of regular reports, to ensure accurate information is provided to stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Conduct analysis of large data sets to support service delivery, organisational planning and strategic projects
  • Present analyses and findings in a clear, concise and meaningful way to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Liaising with managers and data processors to identify opportunities to support work through streamlining processes, creating integrations, removing work duplications and manual processes.
  • Maintain data integrity by identifying, investigating and resolving data quality issues
  • Develop and implement data quality assurance procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency of data and compliance with UK data protection law and best practice standards
  • Act as the Information Asset Assistant for the data warehouse, ensuring that required standards are met
  • Support the adoption of AI-enabled technologies within the charity
  • Promote data literacy across the organisation by delivering training, guidance, and support to employees
  • Ensure all development work is catalogued and robustly documented
