Anopportunityhas arisen to appointanenthusiasticHealth Nursery Nurseto work as part of the integrated0-19Universal Servicewithin the Blackburn &Darwen areato deliver the Healthy ChildProgramme, universal and targeted provision to:

Pre-schooland primary school aged children and their families. You will utilise your knowledge of child developmental milestones to provide key elements of the Healthy Child Programme and targeted provision based on need as delegated by a SCPHN/ Team Leader. You willbe requiredto safeguard children in line with safeguarding policy and work in a variety of community settings including lone working in clients' homes. Youwill require excellent communication skillsand IT skills, the ability to workin partnershipwith partner agencies andhave astrong commitment towards deliveringchildren public health services

Main duties of the job

The post holder as part of the 0-19 Service will workunder the direction of theHealth Visitor (SCPHN-HV) and Specialist Public Health Nurse (SCPHN-SN).

The post holder will work across the 0-19 team with pre-school and primary school aged children and their families. Person Specification

Communication skills and IT skills

Essential
  • Evidence of Good communication skills both verbal and written Good IT skills
Desirable
  • Knowledge of electronic patient records

Qualifications / Experience/Knowledge and skills

Essential
  • NNEB/ BTEC National Diploma in Early Years/ NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education/ CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and education or equivalent. English and Maths GCSE
  • Working with children and observing, assessing and recording their developmental milestones
  • Up to date knowledge of child development Up to date knowledge of safeguarding
Desirable
  • Previous experience in a Community Setting
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of impact of poverty on health
