Main duties of the job

The Procurement & Supplies Team is embarking on an exciting period of change as we start our journey as a single procurement department across the Lancashire and South Cumbria Region. The five Trusts were served by three Procurement teams who have come together forming One LSC Procurement.

This vacancy is a regional position which will provide services to all One LSC Hospital sites.

This role will play a major part in the development and implementation of business strategies to support the future growth of the Scan4Safety service.

An innovative thinker, with a proven record in problem solving, responsible for the development and coordination of system enhancements, you will also represent the Trust systems needs at the providers board meetings.

Having shared responsibility for proactively and consistently ensuring that perceived performance problems are clearly identified using system information, that procedures are implemented in the relevant areas to ensure performance is developed in line with best practice methods.

The post holder will be fully conversant with departmental objectives and work within parameters set by Standing Financial Instructions.

Job description

Job responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES:

  • The post holder will be the operational lead for Scan 4 Safety project-based work transitioning strategic vision into working practice.

  • Full in-depth knowledge of the Trust Inventory management/ Scan 4 Safety systems. Systems knowledge will need to be developed in line with departmental growth.

  • Use system-based information as an identifier for problem solving, working closely as required with various internal and external systems. The post holder will need to have a thorough understanding of Electronic Procurement Procedures and how they support strategic goals. .

  • Development of KPIs to monitor system performance and user compliance. The post holder will need to use this data to drive performance and report into senior management teams

  • The post holder will be responsible for the System Engineer Team and ensure the teams roles and responsibilities are met, providing an efficient service to the end users.

  • Project management will be a large part of the role. With the post holder being responsible for departmental projects involving S4S Systems. Managing the Systems Engineer team.

  • Utilise departmental tools with a focus on standardisation and rationalisation to identify wastage reduction and saving opportunities throughout the Trust.

  • Participate in small procurement projects as directed by the department leads.

  • Represent the Procurement department in conferencing and networking events across the UK. The role will not be site specific and may involve project work across the One LSC sites.

  • To provide and to contribute to, a first-class customer care service to all users of the Trust.

  • Ensure that the expectations of the service users are met through compliance with the Procurement Services Standards.

  • To assist Trust Management in meeting the corporate objectives of the Trusts and One LSC.

  • Any other duties as required

COMMUNICATION

  • Work closely with other members of the Logistics and Supply Chain team, Procurement team and wider ward/departmental based Trust colleagues

  • Providing departmental representation on a range of senior management meetings and engagement sessions. The ability to transpose relevant information from various platforms and communicate them to identified stakeholders in a concise digestible manner is essential.

  • Excellent communication skills are required alongside a practice of good stakeholder engagement.
  • Communications will involve providing advice either by face to face and by telephone, within meetings, written, letters, memorandum and e-mail
  • Resolve customer queries/complaints.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Trust colleagues.

  • Build and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships

  • Ensure that appropriate records are kept and filed on behalf of customers in accordance with audit procedures.
  • When required, provide input and assistance in introducing new technology processes within the Procurement department in line with departmental strategies

Essential
  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent level/or experience
  • CIPS/CILT Qualification /studying towards qualification

  • Business/ IT related Degree or similar
