Pathology IT Assistant
Job summary
The Pathology Information Systems Service at East Sussex Hospital Healthcare NHS Trust is looking to expand its current team on a temporary basis in order to deliver some key transformation projects that are occurring within Pathology and across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
You will be a key member of the team supporting colleagues with account set up, monitoring and troubleshooting of hardware, installing and configuring software amongst other duties.
You will need to be a confident person with excellent customer service skills and have experience in IT system administration.
Training on bespoke systems will be provided.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Good general education to GCSE Grade C or above, with English and Maths
- NVQ4 in administration/RSA3 secretarial or equivalent experience Business / Administration / IT qualification or proven equivalent experience
- Ability to undertake further training required in post
- ECDL or alternative IT qualification
Experience
- Substantial administration experience in the NHS or similar complex organisation
- Previous experience of administering electronic systems
- Experience of computerised record systems and data storage / retrieval / analysis
- NHS administration experience in a similar post
- Pathology IT System administration experience
Skills
- Good keyboard and IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to assess and develop systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good customer service skills
- Able to work independently and use own initiative
- Ability to work as part of a team
- In depth analytical skills and problem solving
- An ability to explore a range of solutions and give advice on the preferred course of action
- Knowledge of pathology IT systems
