Cancer Education Team Administrator

Job summary

We are recruiting for a Cancer Education Team Administrator who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative and Information Technology support to the Postgraduate Education Centre, supporting the delivery of high-quality education and training to multidisciplinary staff groups across Cancer Services.

Working as part of the Cancer Education Team, the post holder will support senior staff and training teams with a range of administrative and coordination duties relating to education, workforce development and staff training processes.

Key responsibilities include coordinating study days, induction programmes and training events; maintaining accurate records and databases; supporting online learning platforms; working with Human Resources to support identification and pre-employment checks, look after all work experience placement for Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, ensuring effective communication across the department.

The post will be worked on a part-time basis, with a two-week working pattern of 3 days one week and 2 days the following week. There will be some flexibility to adjust working days to meet service requirements and ensure appropriate office cover.

Main duties of the job

Th post holder will provide an efficient administrative service to the Cancer Education Team within Cancer Services.

Communicate effectively with Trust staff, colleagues and external organisations regarding education and training.

Coordinate education and training events using Trust systems and online booking platforms.

Provide administrative and IT support using Microsoft 365, Trust systems and approved AI-enabled technologies.

Support work experience placements via the Trust portal.

Maintain the annual education and training calendar and Trust website information.

ENHT is seeking to maintain and expand the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre staff as we move to an exciting new future.

In addition, you will receive a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,137 per annum pro rata.

Person Specification

Qualifications / Training

Essential
  • Educated to a minimum GCSE level or equivalent
  • Able to demonstrate a good level of education in mathematics and English
Desirable
  • European Computer Driving License

Previous Experience

Essential
  • General office experience, preferably in a training/learning environment
  • Evidence of creating and maintain databases and other forms of accurate reports
  • Handling telephone queries

Skills

Essential
  • Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skills, with the ability to confidently set up, manage, and troubleshoot systems and digital processes, for example Microsoft packages, AI digital assistants, Canva, Mentimeter, Survey Monkey
  • Demonstrates strong IT proficiency and confidence in implementing and maintaining systems.
  • Good management and prioritisation or workload skills
Desirable
  • Processes and support effective digital working practices.

Knowledge

Essential
  • Able to take own initiative and identify methods to improve administrative processes
Desirable
  • Experience of working in the NHS and understanding of NHS systems
