Job summary
We are recruiting for a Digital Infrastructure Leadwho shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The post-holder will be responsible for the management and support of all operating systems, databases and infrastructure hardware within the Trust.
This role also requires the postholder to ensure that the security of such solutions. This role requires a high level of management ability, knowledge of IT operations, together with a broad awareness of trends and standards in Information Management and Technology, both within and outside of the NHS. They will provide day to day management of the 2nd and 3rd Line Support Teams at the Trust.

Main duties of the job
Service Delivery & Support Ensure timely resolution of all incidents raised to the teams via the service desk or by other means.
Manage escalations where the quality of service provided does not meet the requirements of the user.
Provide and maintain a suitable hosting environment for all computer room equipment, including air conditioning, Networking, UPSs (for stand-alone, bench-mount and rack-mount servers) and the electricalenvironment.
Ensure that the trusts IT systems have full housekeeping, back-up and security procedures, incorporating anti-virus checking, back-up regimes and full Disaster Recovery capabilities, all of which are to be regularly tested.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive strategy to ensure business continuity for all major corporate systems in the event of unscheduled downtime or disaster, ensuring that any contracts required are inplace.

Person Specification
Knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of a wide range of PC, Network, Server and Telecoms software and hardware
- Experience of working within an ITIL Framework.
- Knowledge of a wide range of Microsoft suite of products
- Excellent knowledge of monitoring tools such as Tanium and SolarWinds
Qualifications & Training
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in IT or related field.
- Experience in Hyper converged systems, virtual technologies, networking and telecoms.
- ITIL Foundation certification, or equivalent experience
- Specialist management qualification, or equivalent experience
- High standard of literacy and numeracy
- Microsoft qualification at MCSE level
- ITIL Practitioner or Intermediate certification in Service Operation, or equivalent experience
Previous Experience
- Minimum 5 years IT staff and IT management experience in a large or complex organisation
- Operational leadership and managing support staff and motivating individuals and teams.
- Working under pressure to tight deadlines
- Producing technical and management reports, including technical process and Digital strategic documents
- Management of Digital Infrastructure.
- Experience of staff appraisals and personal development plans;
- Worked closely with senior stakeholders in planning Digital strategy and running Digital delivery projects
- Previous recent management experience working in the NHS Trust or Hospital environment
- Experience managing staff in a period of process and organisational change
- Previous IT infrastructure design experience
- Budget Management in excess of 500k In depth experience of NHS and IM&T procurement
Skills
- Strong written and verbal skills, able to form effective communications with technical, clinical and administrative audiences
