Global Category Manager
We’re recruiting a Global Category Manager to lead electronics sourcing strategy for a growing, technology-led international business based in Cambridge.
This role suits someone who understands electronics supply chains end-to-end and is comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on.
Key responsibilities will include:
- This is a senior, high-impact role responsible for building a strong, cost-effective, and resilient global electronics supply base.
- You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams while managing key supplier relationships across Europe and Asia, particularly China.
- You’ll take ownership of the global electronics category, including:
- Electronics components
- PCBs
- EMS/CEM suppliers
- OEM and distributor partnerships
- Manage cost reduction and commercial negotiations
- Supplier performance and capability development
- Supply chain risk management and resilience
- Supporting business growth and new product introduction
- Develop and deliver the global sourcing strategy for electronics
- Work effectively in a matrix, multi-country environment
The successful candidate will have:
- Solid background in electronics procurement
- Experience working with Asian supply markets, ideally China
- Proven track record of cost reduction and supplier development
- Confident negotiator who understands the flow between OEMs, distributors, EMS providers, and manufacturers
- Self-motivated, results-focused and persistent
- Strong at building relationships across cultures
- A clear communicator who can influence different functions
- Commercially aware with good problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a matrix and with remote stakeholders
- Strong in emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel internationally essential
