Integration and Systems Validation Lead

We're looking for a Team Lead for the Integration and Systems Validation (ISV) team.

This role involves spearheading systems integration and validation efforts for digital simulation and experimentation products in a vibrant and expanding sector.

Salary: Circa £57,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3-4 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).

The opportunity:

The Weapon System Simulation and Experimentation (WSSE) department integrates real products, models, synthetic environments and personnel throughout the systems life cycle.

Within WSSE, the ISV Team provides best practice and capability assurance throughout the development cycle to ensure products are fit-for-purpose and ready for delivery. Work includes activity in the Digital Battlespace Facility and managing multiple rapid mini-projects as well as longer-term main projects.

Reporting to the ISV Technical Support Technical Expert (TX), the Team Lead will:

• Manage the ISV Team to meet WSSE proving and qualification needs

• Oversee workload forecasting including input to bids, work allocation, and identifying skill/resource gaps

• Line manage ISV team members including development and performance management

• Collaborate with senior leads to align ISV and WSSE objectives

• Provide ISV best practice to support successful design, development and delivery

• Plan test and proving activities, including understanding customer needs, system design, and writing test plans and proving instructions

• Conduct progressive assurance testing, formal qualification testing, defect investigation, data analysis, and external integration with customers and partners

• Report on testing progress, software functionality, and produce formal test and analysis reports for certification, supporting software delivery and release processes

Candidate requirements:

• Good understanding of verification and validation processes

• Leadership skills with people management experience

• Experience with agile principles preferred

• Ability to understand different system levels

• Functional or software test/proving experience preferred

• Dynamic, autonomous and proactive approach

• Strong communication skills with ability to influence and engage multiple stakeholders

• Problem-solving mindset

• Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment
