Land Ceptor Functional Systems Engineer

We are working with a leading defence organisation who are looking to recruit a Land Ceptor Functional Systems Engineer to join their growing team in Stevenage. This role will focus on requirements management, working with customers to understand their needs and translating them into technical requirements to support the development of complex defence systems.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Working with customers to understand their needs and translate them into clear technical requirements
  • Deriving system, subsystem and software requirements to support product development
  • Contributing to product line approaches that allow common products to meet different customer requirements
  • Developing and managing processes for controlled engineering change
  • Supporting system development activities and acting as the customer representative for specific software items

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in requirements management and derivation, ideally within the defence sector
  • Experience using systems engineering tools such as DOORS, DOORS NG or Rhapsody
  • Experience managing engineering change and supporting system development activities
  • The ability to communicate technical information and system architectures clearly to customers and stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience developing complex systems and undertaking trade studies
