SOC Shift Leader

We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well renowned, global manufacturer based in Stevenage. They are looking for a SOC Shift Leader to join their team on a full time, permanent basis working across a 24/7 shift pattern.

This role requires Security Clearance and applicants are therefore required to be a British Citizen or duel national (including British Citizenship).

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and quality assurance across rotating Tier 1 and Tier 2 SOC analyst shifts, ensuring consistent standards and seamless handovers.
• Mentor and develop analysts through real-time support, training needs identification, and briefings on emerging threats and tooling updates.
• Act as key escalation point within the shift, liaising with the SOC Manager, CTI, and Incident Response leads to align on priorities and response strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement by flagging workflow issues, recommending SOP/playbook updates, and tracking performance metrics.

Requirements

• Established cyber security background, especially in network security, infrastructure, and operating systems.
• Experience in mentoring or peer coaching within a SOC, with strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for documentation, coordination, and escalation.
• Solid understanding of the OSI model and protocols such as DNS, HTTP/S, SSL, SMTP, FTP/S, LDAP/S.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools and/or packet capture technology.
• Eligibility for HMG BPSS, SC clearance, and ability to undergo DV-level vetting.
