System Design and Verification Engineer

A key role has arisen within the Sea Viper system design team to support the delivery of the next phases of the programme’s major upgrades.

This role reports to the technical lead for the project and offers opportunities for engagement with senior partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Progress system design verification and validation activities for the project

• Support maturation of the qualification strategy

• Support key design reviews

• Collate sub-system evidence to support compliance arguments and present to internal governance and customer for sign off

• Generate progress metrics and present to senior team

• Identify key risk areas

• Form relationships with customers, industry partners, and suppliers, including supporting relevant customer working groups

• Engage with sub-system design authorities

The ideal candidate would ideally have:

• Awareness and experience of different phases of the CADMID cycle from concept to manufacture, with focus on demonstration and manufacture phases

• Experience in V&V planning, trials planning, qualification evidence generation and collation, and generation of certification documents

• Awareness of industry standard systems engineering processes

• Awareness of weapon system design concepts

• Some experience working on air defence systems desirable

• Some knowledge of command & control, missile and radar design desirable

• Ability to produce concise, coherent and detailed technical reports of a high quality

• Ability to work confidently in the face of ambiguity and multiple conflicting priorities to identify priority tasks

The ideal candidate must have:

• Systems engineering background
